The floating ball system
The floating steel ball is mounted in a special
ball chamber in the key. The ball is the only element
which can move the deflection pin (which projects into
the key way) and actuates the spring-loaded special tumblers
arranged on each side of the lock. The profile control
pins and the additional pin tumblers on each side of the
lock provide the highest degree of technical perfection
in security.

The special ball deflection chamber is protected
against access from the outside. Tapered core pins, housing
ring pins, the ball deflection pin, the special tumbler
(located outside the centre axis) and vertical and lateral
profile control pins round off this complex security system
to perfection. The standard drill protection can be supplemented
(as an option) by additional steel or carbide metal components,
while armoured rings (optional) make it virtually imposible
to pull or force the cylinder out of the mortise lock.
